Buzz, buzz, buzz! Everyone is talking about One Thousand Museum, the first stateside construction project from internationally acclaimed architect, Zaha Hadid. As a two time Stirling Prize winner and the first female to win the coveted Pritzker Prize, Hadid is known for her unprecedented, groundbreaking designs. She is the edge in cutting edge, having partnered with fashion house icons Donna Karan and Louis Vuitton. Some of her most well known designs include the Galaxy Soho Beijing, London Aquatic Center, the Broad Museum and Chanel Mobile Art Paris.
Collaborating with developers Gregg Covin and Louis Birdman, 1000 Museum is in pre-construction and expected to break ground next year. It is estimated to be completed in 2016. The 62-story, 706-foot tower will just have 83 outstanding condos for sale. Square footage will range from 4,500 to 9,800 with half and full-floor condos priced between $4 million to $12 million. Duplex penthouse price available upon request.
The design images that have been circulating show a sophisticated design unlike anything else seen in Miami. The tower’s look is reminiscent of an Art Nouveau champagne flute with curving support columns at each corner. These columns are not only aesthetically beautiful, they will also serve an incredible practical function. They allow the building to offer only half floor and full floor units with no internal support beams. This provides for complete customization inside each home. Hadid’s impressive design is captivating with striking exterior beams, dramatic arches and folded glass, sculpted water drop shape walls and so much more.
The monumental tower will feature the following:
Centered within the growing performing arts and museum district, One Thousand Museum Miami will house units that feature a minimum of 10 ft. ceilings. Many will have 12 ft. ceilings and floors 10 and 12 will provide duplex townhouse units with astonishing 20 ft. ceilings. These figures are attracting the elite of Miami to come calling in a big, big way to welcome Zaha Hadid’s style to the United States. Although ground has still not been broken on this project, the anticipation has sparked what could be called a buying frenzy. The building is reportedly already at 50% capacity.
